But who do you say that I am?

But who do you say that I am?

You might have heard that quote before--it’s from Matthew 16:15. If you recall, Jesus asks the disciples two questions. The first question was, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” In other words, Jesus asked the guys, “Hey, what’s being said around town about me?” In response, the disciples gave an array of answers--feel free to check it out.

For the moment, though, I want to focus on Jesus’ second question, “But who do you say that I am?” Rather than focus on what the masses were saying, Jesus brought it home and point-blank asked the guys, “What do you believe about me?”

With Easter approaching, this is a great time to reflect on that question. Who Jesus is to you might be the most important question you ever process.
